Jon-Michael Castelli, M.D.

Dr. Jon-Michael Castelli, M.D. is a board certified pediatrician who has been practicing in northern California for over 15 years in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. He graduated cum laude at Duke University and AOA honor society at Ohio State Medical School before his residency in pediatrics at Stanford. He joined Discover Health in August of 2016.

While Dr. Castelli brings with him to Discover Health the knowledge and skills obtained practicing in high intensity inpatient pediatric critical care settings, he also draws from his real-life, day-to-day experiences of being a father of two young daughters. He credits this experience as a working father with helping him practice “real-world” pediatrics- making decisions that are not only evidence-based, but also practical and pragmatic, taking into account the child in the context of the family unit, and the family unit in the larger societal structure.

And though there are endless benefits to the practice model at Discover Health for both patient and doctor, one thing Dr. Castelli consistently comes back to is that the tight and rapid communication with patients in our model affords him the ability to “safely do less” to intervene when managing a child.
