Dr Waldbaum was born in Zimbabwe, a country in sub-Saharan Africa. As the son of two physicians some of his earliest childhood memories were traveling to rural villages in Africa with his parents while they were providing medical care for the residents.
Dr. Waldbaum grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. When he completed high school he moved to Washington, D.C. to pursue studies in history and political science. While he found his studies interesting, it only took six months living in Washington for Dr. Waldbaum to realize that a career in the political world was not for him. At that time Dr. Waldbaum changed his course of study to pursue a career in medicine, influenced by his first hand knowledge of the satisfaction his parents had enjoyed through the practice of medicine.
After medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Dr. Waldbaum completed an internship and residency specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Medical School and The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Dr. Waldbaum obtained Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with additional Board Certification in Sports Medicine as well as Board Certification in Pain Medicine. Dr Waldbaum currently holds an appointment as an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida college of Medicine.
Following residency, Dr. Waldbaum returned to Cleveland where he worked with an orthopaedic surgery group and served as Senior Clinical Instructor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. After several trips to the Central Florida area with their two young children in order to escape the harsh Cleveland winters, Dr. Waldbaum and his wife decided to leave the snow and grey skies behind and permanently make their home here in Central Florida.
The focus of Dr. Waldbaum's practice is on non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal injuries with a particular focus on back and neck injuries. Care provided by Dr. Waldbaum includes coordination of rehabilitation, pain management procedures, medication management and testing of the neurologic system.
Dr. Waldbaum works closely with the Orthopaedic Surgeons at Florida Orthopaedic Associates to provide the best and most appropriate care for each individual. This includes close consultation with the surgeons and referral for surgery when non-operative treatment is inappropriate or has failed to achieve satisfactory results. Frequently the surgeons of Florida Orthopaedic Associates will refer individuals to Dr. Waldbaum for neurodiagnostic testing to help them evaluate symptoms and plan the most appropriate treatment or for non-operative management of musculoskeletal problems, such as a pain management procedure when surgery is not necessary or when a trial of non-operative care is warranted in an attempt to avoid surgery.

As always my experience with Dr. Waldnaum and every staff member was first class. From the time I show up at the reception desk the staff are welcoming, pleasant, and helpful, answering any question I have. Then the nurse who takes me back to the exam room is knowledgeable and gets the information the doctor will need. I love the fact that Dr. Waldnaum is always on time, even early. I always get to the office 30 minutes before my appointment time and often I am done with the appointment before the actual appointment time I was given. Dr. Waldnaum is always interested in how I am doing and listens to everything I share. Also I get injections in my lower back , they have allowed me live a active life. I have recommend Dr. Waldnaum and his office to my friend and she is as pleased as I have been.
