Jonathan Volkin, M.D.

Dr. Jonathan Volkin, MD, is a passionate and dedicated ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive eye care, including cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and other office- and ambulatory-based eye procedures. He also provides care in all areas of general ophthalmology, including diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, dry eye, and allergic eye disease. Dr. Volkin sees patients at both our Denver and Lakewood locations.
Originally from Kansas, Dr. Volkin received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas, where he was a proud member of Phi Beta Kappa, recognizing his commitment to academic excellence. He went on to attend Tufts University School of Medicine, where his leadership, service, and academic achievements earned him membership in both the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society and the Honos Civicus Society. Dr. Volkin then completed his internship in Internal Medicine, followed by his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado, where he cared for thousands of patients throughout Colorado and the surrounding region. In addition to patient care, he contributed to ophthalmic research, publishing in academic journals and presenting his findings at national conferences.
Dr. Volkin brings a compassionate and collaborative approach to patient care, with a strong desire to improve vision and quality of life for his patients. He is committed to staying current with the latest advancements in ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Medical Association. Outside of medicine, he enjoys running, skiing, hiking, spending time with his wife and dog, and exploring Denver’s food scene. He is excited to serve the Denver community and provide excellent care to his patients.
