Dr. Jonisch is a superb Retinologist in my opinion. He performed laser surgery on my eye that was quick, painless and extremely successful. I would highly recommend him.

The office was pretty quiet for a Monday. I could not see my regular provider so I saw Dr Jonisch for my injection. Dr Jonisch walked, did not identify himself and picked up the irrigation utensils. After looking down and left I got my injection. I had 2 questions fir him but he was in a rush. The staff apologized fir his behavior but they shouldn’t have to.

As a new patient, I was very disappointed in the visit. Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with a retinal problem while on vacation in northern California. I saw an ophthalmologist at Stanford University Hospital. The doctor in California gave me medicine, guidelines, and information related to my diagnosis along with laser treatments. The doctor at Stanford took time to explain aspects of my diagnosis, including possible causes, and events moving forward. I was very anxious to establish a relationship with an ophthalmologist here at home on Long Island. However, I would never return to this office. Dr. Jonish was not only quick, but also abrupt and dismissive. When I showed him the medication Prescribed by the Stanford doctor. His response was “I don’t even know what that is.“ He made no effort to look at it or consider it. Quite honestly, it seems he just couldn’t be bothered. Unfortunately, I will now seek an ophthalmologist. that is not affiliated with a “factory like” environment.

Dr Jonisch is an extremely kind and caring physician. I had a problem this morning and called the office and they told me to come over right away and squeezed me in to be seen. I was originally very worried but after being seen Dr. Jonisch he told me that everything looked fine and that there was nothing to worry about. It was really great that he was able to see me right away.

Dr Jonisch was very abrupt with me. My eyes are sensitive to bright lights and more so when dilated for the exam. I had a difficult time keeping my eyes open during the exam due to the extremely bright exam light. My eyes were tearing also. He kept telling me rather rudely to keep my eyes open wide. I understand that had to be done but he needs to have more sympathy and patience. I got the impression he was rushing through my exam. Please have more empathy for people that are extra sensitive to bright lights. I am sure he is an excellent doctor but he needs to be kinder to his patients.

My visit was rushed and I felt that I did not have time to voice my concerns.

Friendly, but somewhat reserved. Very knowledgeable. Techs, etc. should address patient (not accompanying spouse). Nurse should not speak to patient (85+) as if she were addressing a 6-year old. Anyway, all she does is bring medication/injection solution to treatment room. Other staff actually test eyesight (in dark-how can anyone see?), take retinal photos, prep and wash eyes, all with varying competence.

The best part of Dr JJ, was his patience while I emotionally dealt with the news...and treatment. He was kind, thorough, quick, and explained everything and why it had to be done.

Thank God for Dr. Jonisch, we only get 1 set of eyes & he made sure that my sight was saved.

Absolutely excellent doctor. I feel confident with my eyes in his care! Not the easiest procedure to have but it's a hell of a lot better than going blind. Huzzah!

I was completely at ease being examined by Dr Jonisch. He is a consumate professional and addressed all of my concerns.

Dr.Jonisch didn't take any time to discuss my father's case, or condition. Didn't seem to be in the mood for my questions and even less in the mood to answer them. Please suggest that he takes a little more time with his patients and their caregivers. It's hard to even formulate a question when he's looking at you with that "hurry it up" look on his face.

Has no personality, cold,.. too fast ..it takes longer to wait to get into see the nurse or be examed by the nurse!!

Dr. Jonish and the staff in the office were efficient and timely. We had expected to stay at the office for 2 hours but were processed, examined, and completed within one hour. Excellent service and professionalism at all levels.

Dr Jonisch is the best retina specialist. Explains condition carefully and cares about patients.

I was referred on an emergency basis by my ophthalmologist's office. They gave me an appointment quickly and sent all the check-in paperwork for me to complete electronically before my arrival, The wait time was shorter than I expected, the staff was accommodating and compassionate, and the exam was thorough. Dr. Jonisch explained my symptoms, which thankfully were of no concern, and explained what would require a follow-up visit as needed. I was given a copy of the paperwork sent to my doctor's office.

He replacedDr Lee who is on leave. He Rushed into me never explained the procedure he was about to perform. He rushed out of the office very uncaring. He needs to improve on how to deal with a patient.

The only suggestion I would make would be to explain the procedure prior to beginning it, from the patient’s perspective. There was some significant discomfort, with no idea of how long it was going to take.

Expert delivery of retinal care.

He didn't introduce himself when he came into the room; seemed rushed and more anxious to go to another room rather than respond to our questions; we felt more like numbers rather than patients. What's happened to the medical profession? As a retired dentist, of 50 years service, I was very disappointed with his lack of patience. There's more to medicine than the act of surgery-he may be great at that but there's more beyond the eye!
