Although I felt like he did a thorough exam, I felt like the entire visit was rushed. Also he said he was doing my injection but it was done by the PA who I had never met or seen. I was thrown off entirely by this experience.

I waited 35 minutes in the exam room after x-rays before anyone came in. I never did see Dr. Whitehurst. At one point I was told he would be in shortly. However, I did have an excellent and thorough experience w/ the PA. She took the time to research my past medical history and provided excellent explanations.

Dr Whitehurst recently repaired both of my shoulders for rotator cuff injuries. Done separately, one was a redo from from another surgeon and the other was fresh. He took the time to explain everything he was going to do and welcomed and listened to my questions and concerns. He spoke with me and not at me, which is great! I have minimal scarring from his work and am progressing nicely with the healing process. I'd highly recommend Dr Whitehurst to anyone requiring surgery for shoulder issues!

Simply, THE BEST!

I had my first rotator cuff tear in mid October on the R side. At that point a nurse practitioner said that the only way to fix that was with something called reverse total shoulder replacement. I googled that in to my phone and read horrible stuff about the procedure. Reluctantly I decided to just live with the situation. However, about 10 days ago I injured the other side of my body which now made life very taxing on me. Dr. Whitehurst said that I just needed about a month of therapy. For 2 months before I lived in fear that I would need major surgery. What a relief! He was also impressed with my strength which I have gained from doing Egoscue posture alignment therapy. It makes everything about my body work better. He is so knowledgeable about all of this and made me feel so.relieved about the whole situation.
