I have waited over a month to talk to a GI doctor about my sudden sharp chest pains, and I felt like he was rushing me out to get to his next appointment. He kept cutting me off and he just made me feel crazy and dumb for even coming in. He said that the sharp pains were unrelated (with no further suggestions of other doctors to see, etc.), diagnosed me with GERD, and sent me on my way. It would have been really helpful to maybe have some resources on adjusting to lifestyle changes with GERD, or to know if I can take my medication on an as-needed basis, so now I have to just do my own research. I plan on getting a second opinion with someone who feels like they actually care about my wellbeing.
