Outstanding surgeon. Very friendly and personable. I had a total left hip replacement and was walking right after waking up from the surgery, and was released to go home after about 7 hours. Literally no pain after the surgery. Some occasional discomfort for about a week and a half, but had pain prescriptions to take as needed. After 2 weeks, just Tylenol as needed. I may be an outlier, but I was 95 percent back to normal activities and working outdoors after 2 weeks from having the replacement. I suffered for 2 years of pain thinking it was sciatica, but it was arthritis with a partially flattened ball joint bone on bone. I wish I had it done sooner now knowing it was such an easy procedure and fast recovery, and I'm 66 yrs old. If for any reason I ever need my right hip replaced, I'll definitely have Dr John Thompson do it.
