YEARS AGO, HIS SPINE SURGERY LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE. I SAW HIM TODAY FOR INTRACTABLE PAIN. HE TOLD ME--HIS BRILLIANCE ALWAYS COUCHED IN LAY LANGUAGE--THAT ALL BACK SURGERY (3 LAMINECTOMIES) HAD HELD UP OVER SOME 40 YEARS PLUS AND THAT THERE WAS NO NEED FOR SURGERY EVEN IF MY AGE (86) ALLOWED IT. RECOMMENDED SALON PAS PATCH AND GEL PACK, PLUS DR. KENDALL IN MCLEAN, VA. HE WAS HIS USUAL EMPATHETIC, WARM AND WITTY SELF. THERE IS NOT A HUG BIG ENOUGH TO GIVE HIM.

Dr. Starr is the best! He always takes his time with me and explains everything so I understand completely. He is not one to rush to operate if the facts don't warrant it.

Dr. Starr had performed numerous spinal fusions on me over the years. I saw him today after 9 surgery- free years. He is the kindest, most compassionate surgeon I have known her and elsewhere. After thorough discussion he referred me to another surgeon who specializes in hips. I would never undergo any sort or orthopedic surgery without consulting him
