Dr. John Sperry, M.D., is a dedicated pediatrician who originally came to Charleston in 1978 for his residency.
He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. After three years in the Public Health Service in San Antonio, Texas, he returned to Charleston to join the faculty at MUSC. While at the university, Dr. Sperry orchestrated the training of many of the area’s pediatricians before co-founding Charleston Pediatrics in 1990 with Dr. Thomas Quattlebaum. Dr. Sperry is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
He joined the SouthernMED team in 2022 and enjoys traveling, spending time with his four grown children, and helping his artist wife.
