Dr. John Ruch, D.P.M., is an accomplished surgeon widely recognized for his advanced skills in foot and ankle surgery and injuries. He pioneered the application of AO Screw Fixation in the foot and ankle since 1976, techniques that are taught to virtually all podiatrist, foot and ankle surgeons and podiatric surgical residents across the world. Dr. Ruch receives patient referrals from foot and ankle surgeons throughout the United States and many foreign countries. Dr. Ruch is based in Tucker, Atlanta, Georgia, and is a member of the teaching staff at DeKalb Medical. He is the Director of Medical Education for the Podiatry Institute, an international education foundation for foot and ankle surgery.
Doctor Ruch has authored numerous medical articles, instructional foot and ankle surgical videos, and textbooks, and has been a major contributor to McGlamry’s Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He has participated as an educator and lecturer in hundreds of medical courses throughout the U.S. and Europe. Dr. Ruch previously served as Director of Residency Training at Northlake Medical Center. He currently serves as Director of Medical Education for The Podiatry Institute, an internationally recognized teaching foundation for reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
