I sent Dr. Kastrup a personal message asking for pain medication. He said I had to come in for an appointment by state law. Went in the next day, he never mentioned the pain meds. And dismissed my pain like doctors before him, assuming that black women do not feel pain! We do and my knees are going through a transition period right now and I have break through pain throughout the day. Every day and I deserved better.

Great Doctor.

While I like John, and in the past I would have given him 5 stars, his team accidentally cut the side of my leg during knee replacement surgery. The results from that caused me drop foot. I’m not happy about that but he’s been working with me with physical therapy CC and an EMG test.

He was very professional and extremely through telling me what was going on with my knees and offering suggestions how to manage.

I felt like my hip issues were not of concern to him since he is a surgeon. He did not give me a diagnosis just said that I should get a walker, go see a rheumatologist, take steroids or cbd for the pain. He did not request an MRI, and then on his submitted paperwork to Optum he notes that all he did was give me counseling on losing weight and a weight management flyer, which is a lie. He never even talk about my weight, which would have been reasonable and I would have replied that I am on medication to lose weighy. He gave me some hip exercises and said I didn't need to waste my time going to a physical therapist...I can do them from home. A good physical therapist could benefit me. I went home and cired when I read his office summary which was lacking any helpful information. I will be getting a second opinion and will not go back to see him.

He is a very good listener. He gives you detailed information and excellent advice.

Spent maybe 10 minutes with me after I waited 75 minutes to see him because the office lost my chart. He gave me a lot of information all at once. He then asked if I had additional questions questions; stating he had to wrap things up because he had other patients to see. I just shut down. He was clearly rushed and decided right then and there he's not going to do my surgery when that time comes.

Had to wait longer than appt time so I could accompany my husband during the visit. Dr seemed less then interested in what I had to say regarding findings in a previous MRI we were never told outcome on. The pain Dr pointed it out to us. Did a 2 second touch test to determine oh yes we can give an injection and appointment was over. So glad I went to see what has been going on. Now I see why my husband can not feel better it’s from lack of concern on Dr. part.

Wonderful experience! The doctor explained everything that was going on with my knee and patiently addressed all my questions. They were able to take x-rays on site and all the staff was incredibly friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

He was very caring and seemed genuinely concerned about my problem. He did not just dismiss it as soreness or muscle strain like most. Her ordered further test to get a better idea of what’s happening and what’s causing my pain. I was pleasantly surprised.

Dr.Kastrup is a wonderful caring doctor. He successfully replaced my right hip in 2019. And now will be replacing my left. I would not trust my care to another.

He will do anything to make you comfortable and pain free. He won't send you to get unnecessary X-ray, MRI and etc. He will not brush you away just because your not a qualifying patient for surgery. He will give you treatments as long as they work.

Had Right total knee replacement on 4/9/2020, recovery is fast and didn’t need a lot of narcotics thus able to do the prescribed exercises. Dr. Kastrup answer questions patiently and in a way that one could understand. I’m also thankful to his scheduler. Doreen, who is so helpful and they would really work for you. I would definitely recommend him to be your orthopedic surgeon, the BEST.

Dr. Kastrup seems knowledgable and and discussed my treatment options. He is personable and spent a reasonable amount of time with me. I appreciate the online option for paperwork but the amount of it seemed excessive for an Orthopedic Dr. vs. a Primary Care Dr. Also the forced requirement to provide a Social Security number is unacceptable.

Although I felt a bit rushed, I did understand what was going on and how to proceed. Knowing I have the clinic at my disposal for a one-year period of time gave me comfort.
