Didn’t enjoy my time

Dr. Hammersmith has been my eye doctor for many years. He is very professional, takes time to explain procedures, answers my many questions and seems interested in my eye health. I do not feel rushed during a visit. I cannot think of anything that needs to be changed.

Everyone, from check-in to check-out is wonderful here. I'm so happy to have made the change to ECVA where I feel I'm listened to. Dr Hammersmith is wonderful, as is everyone who works with him.

Dr. Hammersmith always gives you a thorough eye exam and his expertise provides you with solutions to any problems you may have. He is very kind too and listens to his patients.

Dr Hammersmith is always very cordial and my child feels very comfortable when the Dr. Examines his eyes .

A tech did my exam; the dr only checked my retina health. My husband also went and they weren’t able to find a prescription that worked for him; the dr’s attitude seemed to be “Oh, well.” They never told us that we needed to go see the optician to get a contact lens prescription. We were half an hour toward home when we realized that. We called back to ask what to do. They told us to go to another one of their offices closer to where we were; we did, and they were closed. All in all we both had a really disappointing experience with frustrating service.

Dr Hammersmith is fantastic. I’ve been a patient of his more or less for the last 15 years, and I would never go anywhere else. He is truly exceptional.

John was extremely thorough and professional!

I had an appointment on May 13th at 3:15 PM as a new patient. The check-in was easy, fast and efficient. However, I waited for over 45 minutes and everyone who came in after me was seen immediately. While I patiently waited, I witnessed a Caucasian female patient who came after me whose appointment was at 3:30 PM, trying to reschedule her appoint because she could no longer wait, and overhearing her conversation with the help desk, was called immediately and was seen first. I am a Black Muslim woman who wears the Hijab (head scarf) and clearly, this doctor and his team are Islamophobic and Xenophobic. I'm still upset by the way I was treated. No apology, no we're busy and we'll get back with you soon, all I got was an attitude that I was not welcomed and that I did not belong there. It’s hard to remain professional when one has so much hatred in their hearts. I can’t cure this disease, but just do me and people like me a favor, refuse to do business with us instead of mistreating us.

He is the nicest! Soft-spoken and just totally chill. It is a pleasure to be in his presence. And he explains everything as he’s examining. I definitely recommend!
