Dr. John Greco is a member of The Orthopaedic Center Sports Medicine Team. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. He specializes in arthroscopic and open reconstruction of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Greco is a volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the University of Alabama in Birmingham Medical School
Dr. Greco is the head team physician for Alabama A & M University, the Huntsville Havoc hockey team, as well as numerous area high school athletic programs. He also serves as the Medical Director for Huntsville Hospital Sports Center, medical staff for the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA), a consultant for Major League Fishing (MLF), and Sports Medicine Physician for Strike King Lure Company’s Elite National Pro Fishing Staff. He is currently involved in research validating the clinical use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), synthetic articular cartilage transplants, and research with Smith and Nephew about the long-term effects of bio composite results with anterior cruciate ligament screws.
Dr. Greco specializes in patellofemoral knee pain and rotator cuff treatment. He is an avid outdoorsman in both hunting and fishing, and treats many outdoorsmen for various ailments of the shoulder, knee, and elbow.

Wonderful doctor
Very helpful, perfectional, and informative. Explained my problem and gave me alternatives for present problems and future problems that may or may not happen. Very satisfied with the visit. And the practitioner also gave me enough information that helped very much and they have a great and kind staff.

Dr. Greco is a great surgeon, I highly recommend him. He is very professional and has a very good bedside manor. His staff are equally the same and pleasant to be around.

Great staff and excellent service
Dr Greco has been the best for my daughter’s knee issues. Even having to go in behind another surgeon to fix what they did wrong. I wish we would have went to him first so she would only have to have had 2 surgeries vs 4. His bedside manner is second to none, you can tell he truly cares about his patients. If you’re looking for an amazing orthopedic surgeon, he is the best in the business!

Great Staff!
I got to see Dr. Greco's NP and she was amazing. My appointment was with Dr. Greco and I was looking forward to it, because he performed surgery on my granddaughter and daughter years ago. It filled my heart when he came in to see me and give my babies his best wishes, I suppose his nurse had to tell him I had hoped to see him. The care was amazing from every person in there. Thank you!
