I didn’t see Dr. Graves but his PA Mike who was great

Horrible bedside manner! Extremely dismissive when I’m telling him about my pain. He tells me he’s never had anyone else to feel or complain about this. As if I’m supposed to care. He doesn’t act as if he cares for his patients just his rating. Appointments are just a routine thing to do. He surely doesn’t act as if he cares. I’m honestly thinking it’s a race thing! Who walks in 9 days after surgery & grab their patients arm & lift it with absolutely no compassion!! He did!! Surgery October, has never even looked at the incision until February/March! Touched my shoulder in March, I told him where was touching me hurts! He moved his hand but never asked about the pain. I wouldn’t bring my daughter’s puppy to see him!! I’m only still coming because my case is workers comp!

John Graves is a great doctor. He takes the time to explain everything and puts you at ease. He does excellent work and I have had no complaints over the 20 years that I have been a patient of his.

I have had 8 operations by Dr. Graves. (I guess I should get frequent flyer rates)... but seriously, when I tear up something else, I'll be back to see him again. He spends a sufficient amount of time with the patient himself to make sure he understands the problem and has Jim as his main PA that is also very knowledgable. If you have got to get something done, these folks are good to deal with.

From the minute I met Dr. Graves he has been an amazing physician. I was referred to him and when I first saw him, he had read everything about my injury and previous surgery done by another surgeon. I was immediately impressed. That was in 2017, when I needed a full knee replacement after a tibeal plateau reconstruction surgery. He explained everything to me and was not only knowledgeable, professional, concise, but also listening and compassionate. He spends time with you, explains and recommends the next steps. His knee replacement is perfect! I'm having issues from the previous injury and surgery performed by another surgeon that I wish I had not gone to. Dr. Graves has suggested ways to alleviate the problems I am having and is always interested in my symptoms. He is a gifted surgeon and remarkable physician. His P.A. Jim Bethune is also super attentive, thorough and extremely personable! Always friendly.

After reading bios of Physicians, I chose Dr Graves because it said he treated non surgical as well as surgical. His PA was excellent and spent quality time with me and started me on a path to I hope a quick recovery. Dr Graves came in at the end, sat to the side of me where I had to strain to see him, spent all of maybe 2 minutes with me. The PA was more cordial with great bed side manners. I will continue treatment only because of the PA.

Dr. Graves spent approximately 3 minutes speaking with me. The PA added information and when I turned around Dr. Graves was gone. Did not say anything or ask if I had questions. I would never recommend this facility and this was my first visit.

Dr.Graves is wonderful. He performed my son’s labrum surgery, and then we had to see him again for a broken collarbone. He is patient and explains things well. He called us after hours with cat scan results which meant so much to us. We highly recommend him and the entire staff at Guilford Orthopaedic.

My visit has always been great, however since Liam has been there he really shows compassion and treats me like I'm one of his family members and also very professional. He makes me feel like a human being instead of just a number. I would rate high at a high 10 every time. Also Jim (PA) is so caring as well and makes me always comfortable with caring for my needs. He takes time to talk to me and listens to what I have to say unlike alot of PA I've had from other doctors.

Dr. Graves is thorough and kind, but I've experienced several times him not listening to my answers to the questions he's asked. He's usually looking at x-rays when this happens.

Very straightforward. I broke my ankle in such a way that I needed a bridge to hold the bones together. From surgery through rehab I was not in any pain. Now have an AFO and had my back surgery and am doing rehab for that.
