I had a good and informative visit with Dr. Barron, The Doctor showed some concern about my diabetes and the effect it is having on my eyes. I appreciated the conversation we had and will discuss the concerns further with my primary physician, Dr. Michael Lynch! Dr. Barron will see me in 6 months. Dr. Barron was very thorough, looking over my past eye history and taking time to explain everything from my tests. Instead of dreading my next eye appointment, I'm looking forward to them!
Born and raised in Selma, California, Dr. John G. Barrón, O.D. obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Fresno Pacific University. After completing post-baccalaureate studies at California State University, Fresno, he moved to Fullerton to pursue his dream of becoming an optometrist at the Southern California College of Optometry.
While attending SCCO, Dr. Barrón had the opportunity to travel to El Salvador and Mexico to provide voluntary vision screenings and eye health assessments to more than 7,000 individuals.
Dr. Barrón specializes in glasses, contact lenses, computer vision problems, and early detection of eye diseases. As a parent and former educator, he is keenly aware of the impact that uncorrected visual problems have on children and their school performance.
He has also made several presentations to community groups about the effect of diabetes on the eye. Dr. Barrón is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, the Central California Optometric Society, and the Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity.
Dr. Barrón is fluent in Spanish, and in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, getting involved in community activities, traveling, reading, exercising, and sports.
