Dr Dever was very professional and approachable, and best of all, both procedures were done before I even knew they had started. His staff was informative and let me know about each task that they had to do. I had no side effects from the anesthesia or procedures themselves and was quickly back to my normal daily routine. Honestly, the worst part is the prep. That’s no fun.
But huge thanks to the IGA staff for taking care of me.

I saw Dr. Dever for the first time yesterday & it was a wonderful experience. He is friendly & very knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions thoroughly & we discussed next steps on what to do which made me feel @ peace when I left his office :) he was very busy w/ patients when I arrived BTW.

Dr. John Dever, M.D., was born and raised in Washington DC. He was director of gastroenterology at Saltzer Health/Intermountain Health in Idaho until operations ended in March 2024. Dr. Dever was clinical faculty at UC San Diego School of Medicine from 2015 to 2022 and trained medical students, residents, and fellows. Prior to leaving, the Department of Medicine (DOMCAP) voted unanimously for his promotion to Associate Clinical Professor. His research has been published in multiple top peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Dever had the highest adenoma detection rate (67%) among peers, received the highest teacher rating and was an appointed mentor for the UCSD Bridge Program for Scholars.
Dr. Dever was also a member of the patient safety committee. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, mountain biking, and traveling.
