John Bennett, MD

Dr. John Bennett, M.D., is a highly regarded pediatrician specializing in the comprehensive care of children and adolescents. His foundational education was completed at Brigham Young University. He then attended the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he distinguished himself by graduating Alpha Omega Alpha, an honor reserved for the top ten percent of his medical school class. Dr. Bennett returned to Utah for his general pediatrics residency training at Primary Children’s Hospital (University of Utah Medical Center), where he was notably awarded the Pediatric Practice Award by faculty vote, indicating the resident doctor to whom they would entrust their own children.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Bennett takes pride in educating families on preventing both physical and emotional problems that might detract from optimum health and life enjoyment. He is fascinated by observing, participating in, and teaching parents about the multi-faceted development of children, encompassing physical, emotional, social, and cognitive aspects. He finds great satisfaction in assisting parents through each stage of their child's advancement towards a competent adult life.

Dr. Bennett holds certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics and is affiliated with the Utah Medical Association and Utah County Medical Society. He is competent in handling the vast majority of childhood ailments and has a particular interest in sports medicine, believing it's a valuable avenue for children to develop character, social skills, and self-esteem. He has completed multiple American College of Sports Medicine team physician training courses. His second key interest lies in mental health-related conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, education struggles, learning disabilities, and behavior problems, having treated hundreds of children and adolescents for such issues.

Dr. Bennett champions a philosophy of care that prioritizes the simplest and least expensive remedies, aiming to avoid over-medicalizing patients or fostering dependency on the healthcare system. He empowers parents to confidently care for their children, promoting resiliency and guiding them on when professional intervention is truly needed.

Beyond his professional life, Dr. Bennett's greatest joy is spending time with his six children, ranging in age from 8 to 24 years old. Together, they share a love for baseball, basketball, golf, camping, hiking, fishing, rafting, biking, and reading together daily. His passion is to help others realize the same joy he has experienced through raising healthy and happy children.
