Dr. John Adams Jr., M.D., is a native of Jackson and joined the Mississippi Urology Clinic in 2008. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. Prior to medical school, he taught Physics and Advanced Placement Chemistry at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Jackson.
Dr. Adams received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his general surgery internship and residency in urology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He has invented two urology-based medical devices currently undergoing patent prosecution through the USPTO: "Continuous Bladder Irrigation Alarm" (US 13/601,315) and "Retention Drainage Catheter" (US 14/272,270).
