His philosophy is simple: help patients get back to doing what they love as quickly and safely as possible. He believes surgery should always be the last option, encouraging patients to first explore non-operative treatments like physical therapy, injections, and other conservative measures. However, when those approaches don’t deliver the relief patients need, Dr. Romano is ready to step in with surgical solutions—treating each patient with the same care and attention he would give a member of his own family.
Outside of the operating room, he loves to watch Notre Dame football, tee off on the golf course, play pickleball, dive into a good book, or explore new travel destinations. His passion for spine health and love for the game make him a driven surgeon dedicated to getting patients back in action.

Dr Romano was so easy to talk to. He listened to everything and the explained the best way to move forward. I give him A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Excellent listener. Thorough, slow to mention surgery as a treatment.open to alternate treatments. Communicates well and is very courteous.
Dr. Romano was very thorough and pleasant. I really liked him. Unfortunately, getting a call back from him or his staff is nearly impossible. I was in dreadful pain and over the course of 2 days and 6 messages left, I finally got a call back from his nurse. Disappointed that I didn’t get relief any sooner.
