For a doctor, her bedside manner was very rude. Telling me that. Make sure , that I don’t tell anymore northerns to come down here. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. How rude is that? Without us know that you wouldn’t have that fine faculty at emerge ortho. They kept me waiting in a room half undressed, and it was ice cold.. and I just got over being sick. But other than that.. PA assistant was really nice.

Dr. Allen is a graduate of Duke University and Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University, she is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (FAAPM&R). Her broad range of experience includes musculoskeletal and rehabilitation medicine, non-invasive pain management, spine and sports injuries, workers compensation injuries, and EMG and nerve conduction studies.
Dr. Allen has served as a team physician and medical staff/consultant for the America’s Cup professional sailing teams, WTA (women’s professional tennis), AVP (pro beach volleyball), WNBA (Atlanta Glory), and for the Olympics and Paralympic Games in Atlanta, Sydney, Salt Lake City, Athens, Beijing, Vancouver and London. She is currently chair of the sports medicine committee and a team physician to the U.S. Sailing Team.
Dr. Allen provides sports medicine coverage for men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s basketball for UNCW Athletics. She is also an adjunct professor in the UNCW Department of Health and Physical Education.
Additionally, Dr. Allen serves on the board of trustees for ACSM, the largest sports medicine organization in the world, and is past president of the New Hanover-Pender County Medical Society.
