I met with Dr. Allen for the first time yesterday and had a terrible experience. She was performing an EMG on me and she asked me why I was on disability. I told her because I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Dr. Allen looked at me and said we don’t put people with Fibromyalgia on disability in NC. She totally diminished my illness and made me feel terrible. I explained that I went before a judge in NJ who determined I was disabled. Dr. Allen asked what causes my Fibromyalgia to flare and I told the cold weather affects my symptoms which is one of the reasons I moved down here. Then Dr. Allen said you people from NJ need to stop coming down to NC. That people from NJ and NY are ruining NC. She said don’t tell my friends and family that I love it here. If I wasn’t hooked up to the EMG I probably would have left. I think she noticed that I was upset and was somewhat nicer but I will never go back to your office again.
