Great Doctor, Excellent Surgeon

I came to Dr Chandler with some pretty severe shoulder pain and I had a feeling I tore something. I was given Voltarin (NSAID) and a prednisone pack and a muscle relaxer. None of it worked and the next week my fear of a tear was realized. I had two tears on the socket that holds my shoulder in place. This causes it to slip out of socket on it's own. When I came back to go over the MRI I talked to the doctor for 5 minutes tops and the rest was his PA which is fine, but as our visit reached a close I told the PA I forgot to ask the doctor a question. I asked for something stronger for pain for a couple of nights until the cortizone shot kicked in. The PA told me I was already on the strongest non opioid pain meds and if that and the muscle relaxer did'nt work there was nothing else they can do and handed me my chart. OK. So I called in later and left a message for the doctor explaining my pain was excruciating and they called me in Aleve. Slap in the face. Does not care.

Awesome Doctor with equally awesome staff. Everyone is so nice and very efficient. They operate that Orthopedic Center "like a well oiled machine". I love it there. I really don't have no complaints except, .... the paperwork is massive, like taking the "SAT's" or something! Especially if you're thurough like I am, and try to answer everything. It's a lot but it doesn't effect their A-1 quality!

So far, I am quite impressed. Dr. Chandler seems to keep up with the latest thinking in reverse shoulder replacement surgery. Out of sling after 2 weeks, driving and doing 2 exercises for range of motion. Yeah. Humble and kind.

He's very nice. I just don't know him well enough right now to say he's five star perfect. Also,after telling me I needed surgery he didn't explain all that he was going to do. I had to ask his PA to come back to the room to explain. The nurse I asked went into the hall & told the PA that I was " freaking out " when I was totally calm I had only told her that I had some questions.

I don't think he was listening to me about what I was dealing with ,and he didn't really ask me about other options and I was very upset .To go in to a high rated orthopedic surgeon and to be only there for 10 minutes I was not happy at all.Im in alot of pain and for u to come up with one solution was very wrong so no I want be going back to him.

Dr. Chandler's resident (forgot his name - fantastic! don't lose him. His specialty is going to be sports med. I would gladly see him as a physician if Sports injury were my concern. I would like his name, please. He's about 5'7 - strong build - early 30s? Also quite nice looking :=) I'm old - I get to say that. ;-)

I recently saw Dr Chandler for a broken bone in my elbow. I feel like he took the appropriate amount of time surveying my test results and gave good advice going forward. He also asked about previous injuries he had treated me for, making me feel well cared for and not rushed through.

I was called the day before to confirm my appointment but did not learn until I was taken into the exam room that Dr Chandler was in isolation. I think it would have been prudent to advise me of that before getting there. He was very nice but, while I appreciate his efforts to help in this crisis, at least having a PA in the room to do a physical exam would have been a good idea. I paid $250 but don’t feel like a video exam is a thorough exam.
