Dr. Jesse Chandler is excited to bring his training and expertise in general orthopaedics and complex shoulder and elbow injuries to the Guilford Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center team.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Chandler is proud to have subsequently gained his surgical training from world leaders at highly-regarded, high-ranking orthopaedic facilities. Following medical school, Dr. Chandler completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of North Carolina Orthopaedic Surgery. In his last year of residency, he was awarded “UNC Chief Resident Research Award” Following residency, he completed his fellowship at the highly prestigious Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, PA.
He has been married to his wife Nicole since medical school and has two daughters, Madeline and Lily. He enjoys running, biking, hiking and playing golf.

Had a very pleasant first appointment with Dr. Chandler. He took the time to answer all of my questions and I had a lot. His office was fantastic, I was called back right away, got X-rays, saw his PA and saw the doctor all within an hour. They scheduled me for the MRI and return visit via call right after my visit. Excellent experience!
Very good visit. Easy to talk to and thorough treatment plan with good results already. Very efficient and short wait time. I'm happy with everyone there.
Wonderful doctor who, in 2015 performed miraculous rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder. I have since given his name to numerous folks.
It was my first time meeting/seeing Dr Chandler. I was surprised he did not feel the need to introduce himself when he first walked in. I am sure the note stated that I saw his physician assistant previously. Overall, he’s a good physician and my experience was fine.
I like dr chandler but I had a question and he left and never came back but i was able to ask the PA. I would recommend!
He is the best.
Dr. Chandler listened to me regarding my shoulder pain and provided help with setting up an MRI X-ray that I could afford! Once the MRI results were reviewed by Dr. Chandler he explained the results throughly and gave his expert opinion on what surgery was needed. The care that I received from Guilford Orthopedic and is outstanding.
