Jeremy C. Caylor, OD

Dr. Jeremy Caylor, O.D. joined University Eye Specialists in 2024, bringing a deep passion for medical eye care and a commitment to exceptional patient outcomes. Originally from Tipton, Indiana, Dr. Caylor’s academic journey began at Butler University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors. He then pursued his optometric education at Indiana University School of Optometry, where he graduated at the top of his class and received the prestigious Jack Bennett Humanitarian Award, recognizing his outstanding scholarship, leadership, and dedication to serving others.

Dr. Caylor’s extensive clinical training includes rotations at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, Kentucky, Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska. His residency at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, one of the nation’s leading programs in ocular disease and surgical co-management, provided him with advanced training in managing complex ocular conditions and preparing patients for surgical procedures.

Dr. Caylor is an active member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association, and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians. These professional affiliations reflect his commitment to staying at the forefront of optometric care and his dedication to advancing the field through collaboration and continuous learning.

Dr. Caylor finds great fulfillment in diagnosing and managing ocular diseases and in the care he provides before and after surgery. He values the relationships he builds with his patients and takes pride in his ability to explain complex medical information in an understandable and reassuring way. His compassionate approach and dedication to patient education ensure that those under his care feel informed and confident in their treatment plans.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Caylor is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, camping, and running. A passionate sports fan, he finds Knoxville’s vibrant outdoor and sports culture to be the perfect backdrop for his life and career.
