Prior to joining Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology, Dr. Barakat held positions as Acting Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Director of Gastroenterology and Biliary Endoscopy, Assistant Professor of Medicine in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Associate Professor of Medicine in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of New Mexico/VA Health Care System in Albuquerque, NM.
Dr. Barakat is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
I was nervous about my procedure but Dr. Barakat did a great job of putting my mind at ease. He answered all of my questions and took the time to check in with me after the procedure. I’m very happy to have him as my provider and feel confident that I’m receiving excellent care!
