Doctor Shakin is “ as Good as it gets “. He is Competent beyond belief - this gentleman knows his stuff. He isn’t merely “ just doing a job “. His interest and the love of his Profession shows through by how much he knows in this field . He’s the Best of the Best. He takes the time in a gentle manner to explain things and when I didn’t understand something, he again took the time by using different examples. I’ve been and still am a Health professional doing what I love to do for a little over 50 years and I’ve never come across anyone as wonderful as Dr. Jeffrey Shakin in the Health Professions.

Dr. Jeffrey Shakin graduated from New York Medical College. He was Resident and Chief Resident at NYU Medical Center-Bellevue Hospital in Ophthalmology. He completed a two-year fellowship in Medical & Surgical Disorders of the Retina and Vitreous and Ocular Oncology at the world-renown Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Shakin is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Retina Society and the American Society of Retinal Specialists. The New York City Police department has made him an Honorary Police Surgeon. He is a New York State Trooper Police Surgeon. He reviews articles for several ophthalmology journals.
Dr. Shakin holds the academic title of Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Hofstra Medical School. He won the distinguished service certificate as well as the Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
