This doctor is wonderful!. I took my Mom to him every month for several years. When my own retina problem started about 3 years ago, I went straight to Dr. J. Shaken. He has always been friendly, informative and answers all questions. For anyone who needs shots in their eyes but are worried/scared, go see Dr Shaken- he is very gentle, no pain at all and it’s over in seconds!

Dr jeffrey Shakin has been my doctor for over 10 years. I trust his opinions and suggestions. I just recently went to him thought I had a problem. He assured me that my eyes were good, vision is good. He resolved my issue, which was minor. He's a terrific doctor, professional. He's the best!!.

Dr. Jeffrey Shakin graduated from New York Medical College. He was Resident and Chief Resident at NYU Medical Center-Bellevue Hospital in Ophthalmology. He completed a two-year fellowship in Medical & Surgical Disorders of the Retina and Vitreous and Ocular Oncology at the world-renown Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Shakin is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Retina Society and the American Society of Retinal Specialists. The New York City Police department has made him an Honorary Police Surgeon. He is a New York State Trooper Police Surgeon. He reviews articles for several ophthalmology journals.
Dr. Shakin holds the academic title of Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Hofstra Medical School. He won the distinguished service certificate as well as the Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
