Confident and skilled surgeon. He answered all my questions without haste.
Very knowledgeable and straightforward. Great doctor
This was an outstanding patient experience. Dr. Abildgaard reviewed case history & x-rays. He then explained treatment options & expected outcomes in an engaging & consumable way. The admin staff was efficient & courteous. The x-ray techs were knowledgeable & resourceful. Highly recommended.
Appt was at 4:00, arrived 10 minutes early as requested. Sat in waiting room till 4:30. Sat in patients room till 4:55. . No apologies as to being so late. My time is valuable too. Did a great job of relieving the pain. Will see how long it lasts.
Dr. is attentive and answers all my questions.
I am an established patient with Dr Abildgaard, seeing him previously for knee surgery, and this time for elbow, neck and shoulder pain. I'm still taken aback every time I see him with the level of care he provides. I feel it's becoming a lost art for doctors to actually listen to patients explain their pain and entertain their questions, and yet each time I see Dr Abildgaard I feel like I'm the only patient on his schedule. He is always on time, and then takes the time to thoroughly listen and equally as thoroughly explain what he believes is going on, and the methods of treatment available. I had a number of questions about combatting pain and inflammation and he not only provided intelligent, thoughtful responses, but also backed each with info on studies that have been done to support his responses. Dr Abildgaard is the perfect combination of highly intelligent physician that still has the warm and sincere demeanor of a caring friend. Ortho Arizona is lucky to have him.
I’m so glad I met Dr. Abildgaard! He has a wonderful bedside manner, very knowledgeable and was able to help me far more than the previous doctors in just one visit.
Very informative and very kind
Dr was abrupt, asked very basic questions and then proceeded to tell me 3 remedy options for my frozen shoulder: 1 - PT, 2 - cortisone shot or 3 - surgery. I asked him to expand on that info and he raised his voice “the same that I just told you!” and repeated the 3 exact same options. I said I just needed as much information as possible before deciding and he didn’t need to be short with me. I said I’ve never had this injury before and don’t know what to expect. He became defensive and said he didn’t raise his voice. At that point I just wanted out of the exam room. Clearly I wasn’t going to gain any details and my 3 minutes were up. I spent an hour driving, 20 minutes filling out paperwork, 20 minutes on the phone setting up the referral appointment - for 3 minutes of condescending rudeness. I will inform Dr Lee (PCP) of the disappointing waste of time.
He’s very thorough. He listens to what what I had to say about what was going on with my knee.
