Dr. Hooten was very knowledgeable and so patient with my father. I highly recommend him!

My optometrist said I would get a more personal consultation with Dr. Hooton than with another clinic, but Dr. Hooton was very rushed through my evaluation and did not explain much about my overall eye health or show much concern for my fear of drugs after chemo damage. His staff didn't have me come in earlier than the appointment for paperwork for a new patient. I should have known, but I didn't think about it. Maybe filling out forms took away from the time I had with him.

After preliminary, annual testing, was sent to a central waiting area for over an hour prior to seeing the Dr. Additionally, my chart had been swapped with another patient. The Dr is good — the patent flow is sub-optimal.

Explained all my questions well. Didn't feel like he was pushing me to a more expensive cataract type lens even when I was ready to get the more expensive one. Very polite and a good listener!

It's obvious he just wanted to operate. He got annoyed and left in a whirlwind. He wasn't even curious about my particular case, and he didn't know about the technology available for my issue, reading approaching traffic signs. Establishment medicine inside the box. Yeah, no guaranty the operation would solve my problem, he said. Disappointing. He didn't appreciate my complimenting his family. Self-serving.

Super caregiver! While on vacation in Idaho, developed a possible retinal tear. He agreed to see me within the next hour and provided a diagnosis for treatment and to allow us to continue on safely. He also contacted my home provider with his diagnosis. When I called my home provider, they had already received his report!
