From my initial consultation to my post-op appointments the entire experience was flawless. My hip replacement was an outpatient surgery( Red Cedar Surgical Center). It was in the morning and I was on my way home by noon! I’m currently three months post op and am completely pain free with a significantly increased range of motion. My only regret - not contacting his office sooner. Thank you Dr Cochran.

A lot of surgeons will try to give you surgery even when you don't need it or deserve it. What I really like about doctor Cochran is he's very honest and will simply tell you that you're not a candidate for surgery and that surgery is not needed for you. He referred me to another specialist just to out rule any other bodily systems in my body. He told me what my diagnosis was at least from his end and that there was nothing he could do to help me surgically. I saw an orthopedic surgeon about 14 years ago and that surgeon wanted to do some type of surgery on me even though it wasn't necessary or needed! So I really appreciate Doctor Cochran's honesty, character and integrity!

Wait time for an 8:30 arrival 9 o’clock appointment- saw the dr at 10:15. MA came in took my info- then also his assistant came in and took and asked more of same info- but it felt like when the dr came in he was not up to speed on the information given. It almost felt impersonal.

Dr Cochran is a skilled surgeon and was not “pushy” about when I should have the surgery.. knowing I needed to be ready. The surgery went well and he reminded me that the recovery work was up to me! Scarring is minimal! I am a very satisfied patient.

I should have seen Dr. Dan Mesco, but Dr. Cochran said it was a clerical error that had booked me. I appreciated his effort but really had hoped to talk to Dr. Mesco

Through and answered all of my questions.

Dr Cochran did my right hip and I immediately felt better and did not have to stay overnight at hospital. Three years ago he did a revision on my left hip that was falling apart. Very thankful for such a gifted surgeon.

This is based on surgical outcomes and reputation, but he was not very forthcoming with information unless pushed a bit. The clinic and process are not patient centered. Many improvements could be made to improve the experience. Provided written information was inconsistent. Information from a medical assistant, a PT, and the scheduler was wrong. Dr Liu did not succeed at the request for me to be alert when entering the OR, but this has been done successfully for me by other anesthesiologists. The X10 and Novacare groups don’t work seamlessly - this could be done better. Not nearly like a Mayo experience, and not as good as a UofM experience.

Dr. Cochran gave me an excellent evaluation of my situation and recommendations.

So far so good. I'm no doctor but everything went smoothly and I have realistic expectations. I'll be looking him up when it's for the next one. He did focus on some of the more mental issues I was having with the rehab as the physical ones have been a non-issue for me, which I really appreciated.

The impression that I get is that your operation is a human chop shop. Like a chop shop if your the vendor it’s great. If your the car not so much.

He is a very nice man and a great surgeon, my husband had him do his knee replacement. I got no real diagnosis today and will do what he suggested but I do not think it will help. I thought he would order an MRI and get a little more info on my problem. I will see him again and get an injection and hope that works.
