He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Villanova University in Villanova, PA. He then went on to receive his medical degree from Hahnemann University Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Bacharach completed his internship at Crozer-Chester Medical & Burn Center in PA, followed by his residency at Hahnemann University Eye Physicians and Surgeons in PA. He further specialized his training with a prestigious Fellowship in Glaucoma at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA Medical Center in CA.
Dr. Bacharach is board-certified by the Medical Board of California and the American Board of Ophthalmology. He founded North Bay Eye Associates in 1993, where he serves as the Director of Research. In this role, he is the Principal Investigator in numerous pharmacology and device studies, actively working to increase the effectiveness of glaucoma management and treatment for various other ocular diseases.
He is a highly sought-after international lecturer, traveling extensively to share his expertise. Dr. Bacharach has authored many articles in peer-reviewed literature and contributed to numerous book chapters. His professional memberships include an Achievement Award in 2005 from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, California Medical Association, Sonoma County Medical Association, and the Ophthalmic Society of the Redwood Empire.
Dr. Bacharach holds significant hospital affiliations, serving as Vice-Chair of the Glaucoma Division at California Pacific Center Medical in San Francisco, and previously as Chief of Staff (2003-2005) and a continuous Executive Board member (2001 to present) at Petaluma Valley Hospital.
He is married, has one son, and in his spare time, enjoys basketball, sport fishing, and spending time with his family.
