Dr. Jason Anane-Sefah is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who is Mayo Clinic fellowship-trained and specializes in hand, upper extremity, and microsurgery. The son of a surgeon and a nurse, he grew up in Santa Cruz, CA. He studied Neurobiology at Yale University then completed his Medical Doctorate and Orthopaedic Surgical Residency at Howard University in Washington, DC. He went on to complete his Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microsurgical Fellowship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He gained 10 years of experience as the senior Hand Surgeon at a Regional Level 1 Trauma Center in Peoria, IL, treating severe traumatic injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, and compression injuries; complex degenerative conditions requiring reconstructive procedures; and common upper extremity conditions. He has also served as a physician volunteer with Hope Clinic in Ghana, which was founded by his father’s mission work.

He is passionate about helping patients both here and abroad get back to their pre-injury status as rapidly as possible. He is excited to join the specialists at the Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio and to bring Mayo Clinic quality, highly subspecialized care to the region.
Dr. Anane-Sefah has strong family ties to the Bellefontaine and West Liberty area where his wife, Lila, and generations of her family are from. When not caring for patients, Dr. Anane-Sefah enjoys spending time with his family, beekeeping, hobby farming, bow hunting, gardening, and serving at church.
