He developed advanced expertise in treating fractures of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, as well as sports-related injuries affecting these areas. His training included arthroscopic procedures for the wrist and shoulder, such as rotator cuff and labral repair, as well as total shoulder arthroplasty. Additionally, Dr. Burkett gained proficiency in microsurgical nerve repair and tendon transfers, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, and the treatment of conditions such as cubital tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease, trigger finger, elbow instability, and arthritis from the shoulder to the fingertip.
