Janki R. Patel, MD

Dr. Janki R. Patel, M.D. graduated magna cum laude from UC Davis with honors in biochemistry and molecular biology. She attended UC San Diego for medical school and thereafter, completed her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at UCSD. She has been practicing gastroenterology in the San Diego area since then.

Dr. Patel is interested in all aspects of gastroenterology with special interests in women's gastrointestinal health, obesity, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Patel is dual board certificated in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She has authored multiple abstracts, peer-reviewed publications, and presented her findings at both national and international medical conferences.

In her free time, Dr. Patel enjoys being outdoors in sunny San Diego, exploring new restaurants in town, hiking, and practicing yoga. More importantly, she loves spending time with her husband and son. She is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.
