Dr. West is always respectful. He listens and determines the most effective way to treat my concerns. He also has a wonderful staff. Wait time was less than an hour from check in to check out. Phenomenal!!

Dr. West is the most exceptional doctor I have ever had the pleasure of going to. My back pain has been so horrible and I’went to at least 5 to 6 doctors between Mobile and Pensacola and could not find anyone that would even talk to me. Dr. West has an anesthesiologist named Dr. Walsh who did an epidural on me according to the directions from Dr. West. The epidural worked perfectly so Dr. West knew exactly where to operate. I had surgery in May 2022 and I have no back pain anymore. Dr. West is absolutely the best spinal surgeon ever and his PA Josh is wonderful too.

Dr West definitely knows his stuff he don't beat around the bush he gets straight to it. He seems to be a little short with me on question answers. And you definitely don't want to get on his bad side. But he is probably the best back surgeon in Alabama.

This was my second visit due to back pain. Dr West came into the room and a single question. He immediately said he would order an MRI and left the room. I saw him for literally less than a minute. This could have been accomplished over the phone without a charge of an office visit.

I highly recommend Dr. James L. West as a surgeon! He performed nothing short of a miracle for my mother-N-law who suffered from severe back pain associated to scoliosis. Her condition was severe. Her scoliosis was so bad, her rib was fusing itself to her hip which was causing her ribs to squeeze her vital organs. It was extensive surgeries to accomplish relief for her(done in (approx 2010?) She still says to this day she is pain free!! (Miracle) In 2019 I needed a 3 level lumbar fusion and there was no doubt who I was gonna have do it(Dr. J.L. West)!! It was very successful. The reason I visited today is to get checked after a recent car accident. I know I’m being long winded but he is a great surgeon! Hope this helps you, I know Dr. West can!

Only spent 5 minutes with me after waiting 45 minutes beyond my appointment time. Dr. Edminston was a lot more thorough and certainly more personable.

Today my visit was the worst I have had with Dr West. He didn't great me(he usually does). He was very rushed and then walked out leaving not knowing what was next. Seemed as he didn't have time for me. I don't appreciate that at ALL.

Dr West has had me and my mom as patients since 1999. He performed a hip replacement and a cervical laminectomy for mom. He performed a lumbar fusion for me. He’s not warm and fuzzy , but he’s excellent.
