Dr. Sutherland is everything you could ask for in a doctor. Straight forward, lays out all my options, lets me make the decisions and lets me know the path moving forward. Everyone in this location is friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Quite simply, this surgeon is the best. Do yourself a favor and have him do your surgery. I’m in my 70s, significantly overweight, and my knee replacement was fantastic. Very fast recovery for me, and the best decision I ever made!

Professional manor but somewhat impersonal. Did an excellent job of diagnosing the problem and giving the steroid shot(no pain). Would see him again if necessary.

Dr Sutherland is a no nonsense professional. He doesn’t talk down to you and answers questions with a good explanation.

James Sutherland is now trying to be a bit better with people. Still has poor bedside manner. Centers on a diagnosis. Refusing to consider other possibilities. Go to him with knowledge. Listen to what he says. Research for one self.

The waiting room wait was well over a half hour. He also completely disregarded my concern how Dr Murch recently felt I had a poor pain tolerance which he noted from a hand surgery he had just done 3 months prior. This was discussed prior to surgery with Dr Sutherland by me as well as Dr Murch. Dr Sutherland assured me I would be fine. However he completely disregarded my extreme pain he left me in when he released he 24 hours after a complete knee replacement.This was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I cannot express how devastated I was and still am.

Appreciate thorough, quick decision on how to best diagnose my issues.

I received the care I came for, but waited an hour to be seen. Several others in the waiting room had the same experience. When I spoke with Dr. Sutherland I expressed my displeasure with the wait. He asked what he could do. My response was, communicate with patients in the waiting room that he is running late and that they may, if they wish, make another appointment. It is disrespectful of people's time and lives to take an hour out of their lives!

I am healing very well with my new hip. Dr. Sutherland has knee, hip and some hand surgery and I have always come away with the knowledge that I have an excellent surgeon on my side and that is so important for a patient to have that kind of trust and confidence in the person who is doing surgery on your body and doing it so well. Dr of few words but knows his abilities with surgery.

After waiting 40 minutes to see the doctor, he decided he wanted x-rays taken. Four x-rays were taken and then I needed to wait another 30 minutes for him to return to review the images. If x-rays were important for him to make a professional diagnosis, the order for x-rays should be noted at the beginning of my appointment so as not to make the appointment longer than necessary and making his time more efficient and saving both of us unnecessary wait time.

Best surgeon ever!!! I literally was Humpty Dumpty and he put me back together!!! I would recommend him to anybody who wanted the best!! I got him by chance WAS MY LUCKY DAY !! How does a person ever really show how grateful you are???

I found Dr. Sutherland to be without interest or care for the pain in my hip. I was told to take ibuprofen , which I have been doing for a couple years already, until I was sick of it. Then I could come in for an injection, which was what I had said I wanted when I made the appointment, and was under the impression I was going to get. He took x-rays, which I've already had, told me I have severe arthritis, which I already know, and showed me the results of the x-rays, which I had already seen.
