He’s OK Doctor friendly and he do a job to feel a question

I moved from Birmingham a couple of years ago where top-notch health care was around every corner. What a pleasant surprise to find such a great doctor/surgeon in a great facility near me. Dr. Smith has a great bedside manner and exudes confidence in his specialty. This really put me at ease for an upcoming disc fusion, I’ve been putting this off for years. He made me comfortable enough to finally get the ball rolling. But it was my decision.

I appreciated his directness.

I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff and doctor. Everyone made me feel welcomed.

Overall pleased and pleased with my progress. I love the way Dr. Smith sits down and goes over everything with you and helps. You understand every angle of the situation, which means a great deal. They thought it was very pleasant as well as staff. I know he’s a good doctor and I know he’s going to help me.

He was very friendly and explained everything to us but not once did he physically examine my husband. All johnny wanted was for someone to see the condition of his neck. (The lump). It wasn’t until after we left and discussed everything that we realized what happened. He was used to dr sparks and was disappointed. We’re not saying dr smith is wrong just different.

Dusty is God sent to the medical field. I could not walk because of my back. He did surgery and it is wonderful. I went back for check up today for my 3 mo. Post visit. When I went my left knee was all swelled up with fluid and lots of pain. He did an xray, gave me a shot of cortisone in it and suggest I see Dr. Sparks. Replacement is inevitable

I have seen Dr. Smith since 2018 regarding my lumbar disc that needed surgery . I was informed by Sparks medical staff that he was trained in the SI surgical procedures and he was not and I was treated as though I should be referred to pain management which was a complete insult considering I legitimately continued pain. . Be . procedure by inserting rods from a small portion of my hip, through the SI joint and fused to my pelvis to stabilize the joint. The procedure did not work as he simply put 2 titanium screws in or around the SI joint to stabilize the problem. It did not work. I contued thim for a revision countyofvisittoLlllexplain that it was not his work that contributed to continued pain due to looking at a simple X Ray. Since then I have been diagnosed by a physician at UAB’s neuromuscular program at the Kirkland Clinic after being assigned a neurological for my care. Prior to this as I explained he would not do any further testing for over one year despite continuing pain.

He's been very straightforward about my options and doesn't try to convince to take more invasive steps. I never wait longer than 5 minutes to see him. My one suggestion for the whole office though, is that they implemented posters or models of the spine and other body parts so that is more relatable to the patient when the doctors are explaining where the injury is.

Not good. Had surgery on May 23rd 2023. I still have major pain and can’t walk for more than 5 minutes at a time. My right leg has pain and my toes are numb. But everyone got my money. I guess I will have to resort to painkillers.

Have been going there for for almost 3 years. I will never go anywhere else. Dr. Smith goes over and beyond for his patients.

I came I for pain relief and made it clear that I had already been taking ibuprofen to help with the pain and he decided to write meloxicam which is basically the same thing as ibueprofine

My surgery went well as expected and Dr. Dusty is A Wonderful Surgeon and the staff was amazing. He is always there in time of need and not only as an DR. BUT a GRACIOUS HUMAN BEING AS WELL.

Good Doctor. Knows his stuff. But always in a hurry (at least with me).

Was the worst experience with a doctor visit in my adult life. I left the visit in tears and the clinic director at Sparks refunded my copayment and met with me to discuss the details.

He helped me quickly to resolve a spinal problem that 5 other doctors had no clue. Thanks to him my health and mobility looks bright. I am forever in his debt.

Doctors are considered the most important and responsible people in society. But in my opinion, Dr. Smith above all that. And he is more than just a Doctor! With all the love and respect for him!

Dr Smith is a caring physician. He listens to his patients and tries his best to help with procedures that offer pain relief.

He is direct, to the point & iI really appreciate the ease of his spinal injections.

He was very informative but lacked a good bedside manner. He was more concerned with reminding me I needed to lose a lot of weight than explaining to me how my problem could be remedied. he offered a surgical solution but refused to talk about it until i lost weight. I lost 20 pounds and went to see a neurosurgeon who is performing surgery in 3 weeks.

I will never see him again or recommend him to anyone.

Sparks Orthopedics does not take time to listen to their patients. They try to rush you through with everything, especially healing. I do not recommend them to anybody.

Does a great job. Very pleased with the results of the surgery on my neck. Has been sympathetic and informative on discs problems in the lumbar area of my back. If surgery is needed he will be performing it.

Dr. Smith was rude and hateful, I’ve never been treated so disrespectful by any other doctor in my entire life. There’s absolutely no way I would ever let this man put his hands on me for any reason!! I’d rather stay in my pain!! I’m going to find a doctor that will help me without the ridicule that I got from Dr. Smith this morning. He acted as though he didn’t have any time for me he was in a hurry. But more than anything else I didn’t appreciate the way I was treated by him. I left his office in tears and felt helpless. I know that my pain is real and he told me that I was fat!!! Well I know I need to loose some weight but I don’t think that I’m huge enough to be called a fat person like that!!! That was mean and disrespectful!! Well y’all can tell him for me that he needs to get some hair because he looks like a dang frog!! And he’s got the devil all in him!! I’ll pray for him because he needs some Jesus!! He’s a very mean man without any respect for others feelings!!

$50 bucks for less than 2. I know how life works…. It jeez. There is also an air in the entire place of almost not giving attention to non-sports/accident related pain. If that is what the typical patient should be then don’t take on “others” To bounce back, the result of the visit could have been a phone call.
