Awesome Physician! He listens, is patient and willing to help! A few times the wait in the examining room was long, we waited 30 minutes for the doctor but at that time I believe he was the only physician since then there’s been another doctor added at the office. Other than that, I wish there were more doctors like him!

The best quality care! Dr Shumate and his staff(Shanae) are amazing. The front desk is always very kind, efficient, helpful. Dr Shumate is the best at really listening to you and looks at the big picture addressing all your health issues and where you might need to follow up with a specialist. He is a brilliant man with a very kind disposition who truly cares for and about his patients. Can’t say enough good things about Dr .Shumate and his staff

Dr. Shumate completed his residency of family medicine at the United Hospital Center and has extensive experience in both private practice and as a staff physician. He previously practiced privately at the Family Medical Clinic in Jane Lew, West Virginia and served as a staff physician in both the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia and the Stonewall Jackson Memorial hospital in Weston, West Virginia. He served as an Outpatient Physician for the Summersville Rural Health Clinic, as a staff physician and as Director of Pulmonary Rehabilitation for the Summersville Regional Medical Center located in Summersville, West Virginia.
