Dr. James Sexton, M.D., is a board-certified pulmonologist and critical care physician with more than 30 years of experience caring for patients with complex respiratory and critical care needs. He previously served as an Associate Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he led the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program for over 20 years and served as Medical Director of the Community General Hospital ICU.
Dr. Sexton played a key leadership role during the COVID‑19 pandemic as Chair of the Critical Care Task Force, coordinating operations across nine ICUs. His background also includes extensive work in sepsis management, pulmonary hypertension care, and ventilator‑associated pneumonia prevention.
