Dr. Sbarbaro performs most common ophthalmic procedures such as cataract surgery, pterygium removal with tissue grafting, and eyelid procedures, but also has specialized training and experience in LASIK surgery, refractive cataract surgery, and corneal transplantation. He was born in Chicago, Illinois where his father was completing his cardiology training, but he grew up in Pueblo, Colorado. His parents still live there today. In his youth, he grew up snow skiing with his family and loves to ski with his 4-year-old son Jim and 6-year-old daughter Ella. However, his 2-year-old son, Ted, refuses to even put on snow pants. He loves typical Colorado outdoor stuff, such as biking and hiking. He also likes computers, electronics, and baking bread. He’s been married to his wife, Elissa, for almost 7 years.

Both my husband and I are thrilled we found him. Such a nice educated man. Informed both of us very well on our conditions. We enjoyed our eye exams. Thanks for providing this service in Pueblo Colorado
Dr. James was really kind and explained everything to me until I felt comfortable.

Dr.Sbarbaro taught me a lot about Styes--what causes
Dr Sbarboro is always pleasant and clear and concise during the exam
Usually Dr Sbarbaro is very thorough, but today he was almost an hour behind schedule. I honestly felt like collateral damage due to over scheduling and he was trying to save time by rushing for my yearly checkup. I have been living with a chronic illness for almost 4 decades and I try to keep up with all of my maintenance appointments, but I was left feeling like “Why bother coming unless something is wrong?” He also put something on my visit summary that we never discussed so I had to call the office for clarification.
