Dr. James Seeds is an accomplished and compassionate surgeon who is board certified in both Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine, a certification earned by less than 10% of Orthopedic Surgeons in the United States. He completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the highly acclaimed American Sports Medicine Institute headed by Dr. Lawrence Lemak and Dr. James Andrews. Extensive training enables Dr. Seeds to handle every aspect of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine including the conservative treatment of conditions of the shoulder, knee, ankle, elbow, and wrist using an arthroscope. These minimally invasive procedures allow Dr. Seeds to repair and reconstruct cartilage and ligaments through tiny incisions. For patients, this means minimal time under anesthesia, no hospital stay, reduced pain, and faster recovery.
During his career, Dr. Seeds has served as a Team Physician for sports organizations at all levels. His experience includes covering a multitude of high school, college and professional sports teams including Boston College football, Auburn University football, Erie Otters hockey, NFL Europe, Schaumburg Flyers baseball, Chicago Outlaws lacrosse and Chicago Soul soccer.
A lifelong athlete, Dr. Seeds understands the active lifestyle and a patient’s desire to get back to participating in sports. His first approach is always the most appropriate conservative (non-operative) option. He believes the best results are obtained when the surgeon and patient work together to formulate a recovery plan. He takes the time to explain every option in detail and provides patients with comprehensive information to ensure they understand and feel comfortable with their treatment plan. Most importantly, Dr. Seeds believes the learning process never ends for a surgeon. Therefore, he continues to attend orthopedic conferences and stays involved in academic orthopedics to offer patients the best and most current treatment options.
Very knowledgeable and friendly. Felt very comfortable with his diagnosis.
Way to busy to give care I expected
No wait, prompt xrays and Doctors diagnosis + cortisone shot. Excellent care overall.
We was very nice but I was surprised he never really looked at my actual arm that was fractured in 2 places. He just read the X-ray that was taken in the Emergency Room 2 days prior. I was concerned about my shoulder so without even examining it he ordered an MRi. I guess I expected him to evaluate pain, and mobility to make sure nothing else was going on.
This was my first appointment with Dr. Seeds. I appreciated his professionalism and he was pleasant to talk to. He explained everything in a way I could understand. I would recommend him to anyone.
Great service.
Great doctor
He did a great job in my surgery. I was in a lot of pain. Everything went well great doctor. I can’t say enough about him.
Dr. Seed and all at Fox Valley Ortho have been amazing! I could not be more pleased with my results.
Always explaining exactly what he is doing so I can understand. Great office staff. Only issue is every time I visit they want more paper work. Being older, not seeing well, knuckle arthritis it’s just to much paper work. I understand is things change but nothing in the last 7 years has but still the paper work.
