Dr. James R. Piorkowski, M.D., is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with additional board certifications in Plastic Surgery and General Surgery. He has a diverse clinical skill set that allows him to treat patients with a variety of injuries and conditions. His clinical interests include complex reconstruction of the hand, upper extremities and lower extremities; peripheral nerve surgery and nerve reconstruction and fractures of the hand, wrist and elbow.
He earned his Bachelor of Science from the College of the Holy Cross and his medical degree from Georgetown University.
Dr. Piorkowski’s extensive post-graduate training includes a General Surgery residency at the University of Connecticut, a Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Missouri. He further refined his expertise with a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
