Dr. James Post is a native of Columbus, OH. He earned his doctorate in medicine from Medical College of Ohio in 1992. This was followed by an internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Indiana University Medical School in Indianapolis, IN. He completed his formal training in 1998 with a hand and microsurgery fellowship at University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He also had further training in hand surgery at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He joined Raleigh Hand Center in 1998. Dr. Post is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with additional certification in hand and upper extremity surgery. He is married and has two children. His hobbies include fishing, golfing and mountain biking.

Dr Post is very engaged, listens well and is a polished professional. I feel like I am in very good hands.
The only issue I had was the visit was unnecessary since we already had the conversation about the surgery to my thumb but because you didn’t put it in your notes I had to again make another appointment for the same thing. I don’t think I should have been charged
Dr Post was friendly, compassionate and listened to my issues. He then gave me options, explaining each one. I was so skeptical about a cortisone injection. He put me at ease and, just as he promised, that experience was not bad. I am so thankful for his expertise and kindness.
Dr. Post is such a nice Dr. w/ great communication skills and down to earth manner.
I felt he had very honest efforts. Enjoyed visit.
Dr. Post is kind, caring and an excellent listener. He is very good at getting you out of pain the quickest way possible. Highly recommend!
