I drove from NC to MD to see Dr. Higgins to get a second opinion. I went in expecting the worst but left thankful that I made the trip. He contradicted the diagnosis I was given by another doctor. Yay!!! The staff were all kind and treat you like royalty. Would return there if needed.

He is an awesome doctor. Goes out of his way to figure out what he can do ,or takes it to the next step cortisone shot for now and while waiting go have tests ran to check for what he thinks might be carpal tunnel. Also had surgery from him on both of my thumbs years ago and has been wonderful so as I see he was a wonderful surgeon and due to that I came back to him to take care of my hands once again for something different. Ready for whatever occurs or happens.

There was a 45 minute delay from the time of my appointment until the time I saw the doctor. The patient who was scheduled to see the Dr after me was seen by the doctor before me. The doctor was unprepared, hadn't looked at the xray or xray report prior to my appointment and initially didn't even know if they had been received.

I really like Dr Higgins. I drive over 2 hours to meet with him. He listens and takes the time to talk through options and show me the details on what we need to do. He’s unlike most doctors I’ve ever dealt with.

That was a wonderful stroke of luck because he is an excellent surgeon, easy to talk to, explains things well and if you're having post-surgical issues, he gets you right in. If the cortisone shot he's about to give you will be uncomfortable, he'll tell you the truth. I have only positive things to say about him.

Dr Higgins is the best of the best! He performs hand surgeries using the latest, most updated procedures which increases the best possible outcomes while reducing recovery time and chance of infection. He is the only hand surgeon I trust. He has performed CMC joint replacement in both of my thumbs and most recently, carpal tunnel in both hands. The CMC joints were replaced more than 20 years ago- and are still pain free and working strong! He keeps his patients well informed about what to expect, has a great “bedside” manner- not to mention he’s just a super nice guy. Highly Recommend to anyone who needs hand surgery.
