Dr. James Giordano, M.D. is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle. He has particular interest in rotator cuff repair, shoulder labral repair, knee ACL and multiple ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair and transplant, cartilage repair and transplant, hip labral repair, shoulder replacement, and fracture fixation. Dr. Giordano graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and attended Temple University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Giordano completed his orthopaedic training in New York City at Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital Center with subspecialty training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Columbia Presbyterian Department of Bioengineering, CV Starr Hand Institute, and the A.I. Dupont Institute for Children. He acted at Chief Resident during his final year of training. Following his residency, Dr. Giordano then chose to pursue an additional year of training at the University of Southern California in Sports Medicine. He worked integrally as a team physician for the football team, women’s basketball team, and women’s soccer teams. He also worked at the University of California Irvine Department of Biomedical Engineering in complex shoulder surgery research.
Prior to joining Ridgewood Orthopaedic Group, he treated patients in New York for five years and was awarded a “Top Doctor.” He practiced general Orthopaedic Surgery with a focus on Sports Medicine and fracture care.
Dr. Giordano enjoys spending time with his wife and son as well as playing tennis, skiing, and snowboarding.

Dr. Giordano was very patient and took the time to answer all of my questions! I appreciated his time and expertise.
Friendly, had a cortisone shot in my hip said it may have been a little early for a second shot and may advance the arthritis but who cares your hip is being replaced in April so enjoy the ski season.
Dr. Giordano is very nice and polite. He was however, a bit quick in the appointment, asking if I had any questions, not asking about what was going on aside from what I had told the assistant. I would have appreciated a little more personal contact.
Dr. Giordano is extremely informative and knowledgeable. Puts your mind at ease every step of the way.
Answered all my questions. Discussed a treatment plan that worked for me. Spent time with me and I didn’t feel rushed.
