He served as Chief of Surgery at Caldwell Memorial Hospital and is a founding member of Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists, which is now EmergeOrtho.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, board certified and twice recertified in Orthopedic Surgery. He’s dedicated to bringing the latest proven advances and highest possible success rates in joint replacements, hand surgery, sports medicine, and arthroscopic surgery to his patients
His areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery, hand and upper extremity surgery, partial and total joint replacement, and arthroscopic reconstruction of the upper and lower extremities.

“I am blessed by God to have a beautiful family of my children Gwyneth, Phoebe, Lilly, and Griffin. They are number one in my heart and understood from a very tender age that they are loved and that their Dad always wants to be with them whether it is school lunch time, a movie, soccer, dance, karaoke, swimming, cheerleading, skiing, boating, wrestling, a phone call, or just goofing around. I enjoy helping my children navigate life and enjoy being a support to them as they pursue their dreams. My children have seen their Dad working out in the gym and boxing, driving a race car, skiing down a mountain, playing the drums in a band, and going to church. Life is a balance, and I always remind them to be courageous and kind and enjoy the journey.”

Wonderful Doctor. He took the time to explain everything to us. He was professional and friendly and made my 10 year old daughter feel very comfortable.

The best surgeon!!!! I’ve had total replacement of both knees and he did a perfect job!! Now my knees are great and my hips no longer hurt like they did before with bad knees. I highly recommend Dr James Stanislaw!!
