Dr. Dowd is a great communicator and a very knowledgeable and experienced physician. I felt very confident with his recommendations. He didn’t pressure me into having surgery. We talked about options and decided that we would try an injection, and he gave it to me at the same appointment. I was nervous because I have had horribly painful injections in the past. But, it was pain free! He has a very gentle hand and a comforting, down to earth and kind demeanor. He made me feel valued as a patient and a as a person and if I do end up needing surgery; I won’t go to anyone else!
Dr. Dow is probably one of the best health practitioners that I’ve ever experienced in my lifetime. His professionalism and his knowledge is second to none. We are very fortunate in Hampton road area to have him with us.

Seamless check-in. Efficient from start to finish. Dr. Dowd took his time, explained the x-rays, examined the knee, offered the cortisone injection and provided information about the surgery to replace the joint. All in all I couldn’t be more pleased and I recommend him without hesitation.
