Left thumb is good as new Waiting for the right thumb to heal now, and I will be back on the guitar asap. I actually had little contact with the physician as it was not necessary and my issue was handled first by Carol (perfunctory and did not give her job title or much conversation. I assumed she was a nurse based on uniform color). PA was excellent and I apologize for not knowing his name (he was a rehire). He was thorough, informed, engaging. X-ray tech was also good, quick and efficient

She was very pleasant, but she couldn’t give me a solution for my guitar playing. Her true help was when she supported the ED at the time of the accident while on call, she provided the direction for rebuilding my hand.to the PA at the hospital.

All in all, a good experience. A short wait for a exam room, X-rays and the Dr’s review and discussion of the problem. While no miracle procedure to fix the thumb resulted, a shot of cortisone and a lovely thumb brace have helped.

Not a good visit. Waited 45 minutes between both waiting rooms. On time for my appointment. Due to most likely over booking patients and we as patients pay the price per usual. Upon doctor finally arriving to go over results from recent test I recently had done in house(go figure) she informs me everything looks good. The next sentence out of her mouth is the best outcome is to perform surgery. Everything looks fine but we should do surgery. Lake house payment must be overdue. Dr. V found out that some of my issues were not being taken care of & she immediately saw that my problem was addressed. The ball was dropped on me somewhere in “the system” but she jumped right in to fix the problem so I can get the care that I need. She performed an ORIF on my Left wrist after a fall this winter and did a magnificent job!!!!! She has a wonderful bedside manner also. Which is sometimes hard to find in a surgeon…LOL. I would highly recommend her services to anyone!!!

Overall I thought my appt went well. I had concerns about my recent finger surgery and wanted Dr. Vanderzanden to evaluate the status of the incision and swelling, discoloration, lack of feeling and pain I've been experiencing. Although she didn't have any specific changes I should make, all of the issues appear to be in line with her expectations and should get better with time. I will see her again in the coming weeks to re-evaluate.

I had a surgical thumb tendon repair by Dr. V 3 months ago. I could not have been happier with the entire experience. She was professional, kind and most importantly, an excellent surgeon! I experienced minimal pain post op and returned to normal function in around 8 weeks (w/ physical therapy of course). Dr. V was outstanding She even gave me more information about my break then did the emergency room she was very courteous and professional and very friendly I would recommend this doctor to anyone.
