Dr. Jaclyn Reed, D.P.M., completed her 4-year residency training at the esteemed University of Pennsylvania Health System – Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where she received comprehensive surgical training in foot and ankle reconstruction, arthroscopy, limb salvage, and trauma. Her residency training also included multi-disciplinary training in vascular surgery and plastic surgery, as part of the Penn Advanced Limb Preservation initiative. During her final year of training she served as chief resident.
Dr. Reed attended Temple University’s School of Podiatric Medicine, in Philadelphia, PA, where she received numerous scholarships and awards, including the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing Award. She was an active member of the TUSPM Sports Medicine Club and volunteered her podiatric services at the Boston Marathon, Marine Corps Marathon, and Penn Relays among several other events. She is a member of the Pi Delta National Podiatric Honor Society, as well as the Stirling-Harford DiPrimio Honorary Anatomical Society. Dr. Reed is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She also holds memberships with the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Prior to pursuing a career in podiatric medicine and surgery, Dr. Reed received her Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University in Queens, NY, where she played Division I softball. During her time as a NCAA Division I athlete, she was named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic Third Team All-America. She was also a NFCA NCAA Division I All-America Scholar Athlete, and served as team captain during her senior year.
As a former athlete, Dr. Reed has a special interest in treating athletes of all skills and ages, and is determined to provide conservative and surgical solutions to return her patients to competition. She has a passion for sports medicine, reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, as well as forefoot surgery. She places an emphasis on helping her patients regain their quality of life and getting back on their feet, while addressing their individual needs and goals. Dr. Reed wants all her patients to leave the office feeling fully informed, and approaches all patients with a down to earth demeanor and compassion. She believes in exhausting conservative therapies when possible, and offers all facets of surgical expertise and utilizes advanced technologies.
