J. Richard Klaas, M.D

Dr. J. Richard Klaas, M.D., has been a pediatrician at Richmond Pediatric Associates since 1996. He enjoyed growing up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and still visits there frequently. He was an Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia. There, he pursued a premedical curriculum with interests in biology and child psychology, and graduated in 1989. He then attended the University of Michigan Medical School, where he graduated in 1993. He was inducted into the Galens Medical Society at Michigan in 1991. Dr. Klaas completed his Internship and Residency in Pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center in 1996. Dr. Klaas was appointed Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. He has been active in teaching medical students and residents, both in our office and at the medical school. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has numerous interests and hobbies, including kayaking, gardening, biking, and reading.
