Dr. Isabel Groth, O.D., grew up in Coos Bay on the Southern Oregon Coast. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. During her time at UC Berkeley, she was elected to the Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key Optometric Honor Societies. She also conducted research in cognitive neuroscience and adaptive optics, fostering her passion for vision science and evidence-based patient care.
After graduation, Dr. Groth completed a one-year residency in ocular disease through the Jonathan M. Wainwright VA Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington, and Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute (PCLI) in Kennewick, Washington. During her residency, she gained advanced training in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, pre- and post-operative surgical care, low vision rehabilitation, and specialty contact lens fitting. She is currently a candidate for Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry.
Outside the office, Dr. Groth enjoys taking advantage of everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer. She can often be found running, hiking, skiing, or exploring the outdoors.
