He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and medical degree from Chandka Medical College, University of Sindh in Larkana, Pakistan. For his academic excellence, he was awarded the Gold Medal for Best Graduate and the Gold Medal for 1st Position from the University of Sindh. Dr. Lal completed his Internal Medicine residency at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center in Karachi, Pakistan, and a second residency at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY.
