Dr. Sunjic lived in Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Germany prior to moving to the U.S in 1997. He attended public school near Atlanta, GA before attending the University of Georgia in Athens for his undergraduate education where he received degrees in both biology and psychology. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. Dr. Sunjic completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship with the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He cared for patients within the James A. Haley Veterans Affairs Hospital System, Moffitt Cancer Institute and at Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Sunjic joined Clearwater Cardiovascular Consultants (CCC) in 2020. His clinical interests include non-invasive imaging, including echocardiography, TEE, cardiac computed tomography, nuclear cardiology and peripheral vascular ultrasound. Dr. Sunjic has several research interests, including carcinoid heart disease as well as survivorship after cardiac arrest and has published papers in these areas.
